Apple iPhone X Launched with Edge-to-Edge Display and Facial Recognition

New Iphone X launch

Apple’s most awaited event, including the 10th Anniversary of the launch of the first iPhone was held in San Francisco last night as scheduled and most of the products and their unique features unveiled fell largely in line with what the pundits had been speculating.

Apple X Features

The Apple X design is similar to what we have been witnessing in the various leaks. The iPhone X has a metal chassis with glass on both the front and the back. The phone comes with tempting 5.8-inch OLED display which Apple prefers to call Super Retina Display. It comes with 1125×2436 pixels resolution which is the highest an iPhone ever had.  Apple famous 3D touch is still supported here. It also supports HDR in both Dolby Vision and HDR.

How Apple’s new FaceID works you may ask? Well, Apple’s this new innovative security system uses a TrueDepth camera system that’s is neatly packed right above the display of the phone along with a wide array of sensors including an IR depth camera and an infrared based projector that maps your face from 30,000 infrared signatures. According to Apple, the FaceID only works when a user pays attention to it.

Since the phone has no home button, Apple made some adjustments in its software. Now, you can light up the display by a tap on it or lift it up. A Swipe up will take you to the home and if you swipe up and hold it for an extra second it will trigger app switcher. You can access the Control Center by swiping from up to down.

Apple iPhone X boasts of a vertical dual camera setup where primary camera uses a 12-megapixel sensor with a f/2.4 telephoto lens with a 12megapixel sensor with wide angle sensor and aperture f/1.4.

The camera setup has 2x12MP cameras in the rear with both the sensors equipped with optical image stabilization feature. The lenses have apertures of f/1.8 on one and f/2.4 on the other. The True Tone flash, according to Apple, will be twice as bright as the previous phones had. The flash is positioned between the two sensors. The front camera would be of 7MP. 4K video recording and stereo speakers round up this part of the phone’s features.

Like the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, also comes with glass back ensures it supports wireless charging. The phone comes with dust and water resistance. At the heart of Apple iPhone X rocks an A11 Bionic chip which comes with 3GB RAM.
