For the students belonging to SC/ST cadre who join the courses offered by IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University), an exemption is given from payment of education fee.
IGNOU, through its long-distance education facility, offers courses on various subjects at graduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate courses. Now, under the scheme followed by the Central government department of human welfare and development, the candidates belonging to SC/ST cadre will be exempted from payment of education fees.
The students of SC?ST cadre who have completed SSLC or equivalent and interested in joining the above IGNOU courses are requested to personally approach the IGNOU Regional office functioning at Chennai Vepery Periyar Grounds.
