☕🍵 Natural Hair Colour with Tea & Coffee
Best for: Deep brown tone, mild grey coverage
Works on: All hair types, but shows best on lighter greys
🌿 Ingredients
- Strong black tea – 2 tbsp tea leaves (or 2 tea bags)
- Strong coffee powder – 3 tbsp (instant coffee or filter coffee)
- Water – 2 cups
- Optional: 1 tsp apple cider vinegar (helps colour stay longer)
👩🍳 Preparation & Application
- Brew the Tea & Coffee
- In a saucepan, add 2 cups water, tea leaves, and coffee powder.
- Boil for 10–15 mins until the liquid reduces to about 1 cup and becomes dark.
- Strain and let it cool completely.
- Application
- Wash your hair with a mild shampoo and towel-dry until slightly damp.
- Pour the cooled tea-coffee mix over your hair, ensuring it covers from roots to tips.
- You can also dip a clean brush or cotton ball and apply directly to roots for grey coverage.
- Processing Time
- Wrap your hair in a shower cap and leave for 45–60 minutes.
- For deeper colour, repeat the rinse 2–3 times without washing in between.
- Rinse
- Rinse hair with cool water (no shampoo).
- Let hair dry naturally.
💡 Tips for Better Results
- Repeat 2–3 times a week for a deeper, more lasting shade.
- Adding henna to the mix will give a more reddish-brown tone.
- For extra shine, mix a spoon of coconut oil into the cooled brew before applying.
- Colour fades gradually, so regular application keeps it fresh.
