🍕 Homemade Pizza Dough Recipe (Weekend-Perfect!)

Ingredients

  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)
  • 1 cup warm water (not hot)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp instant yeast (or 1¼ tsp dry active yeast)

Method

1. Activate the Yeast (If using active yeast)

  • Mix warm water + sugar + yeast.
  • Let it sit for 5–7 minutes until frothy.

(If using instant yeast, you can skip activation and add directly to flour.)


2. Make the Dough

  • In a mixing bowl, add flour + salt.
  • Pour yeast mixture and olive oil.
  • Mix and knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth, soft, and elastic.

3. Let it Rise

  • Grease a bowl lightly with oil.
  • Place dough, cover with a damp cloth.
  • Let it rise for 1 to 1.5 hours or until doubled in size.

4. Shape the Pizza

  • Punch down the dough to remove air.
  • Divide into 2 balls for medium pizzas.
  • Roll out to your desired thickness (thin crust or fluffy crust).

5. Add Toppings

  • Spread pizza sauce
  • Add mozzarella
  • Add veggies/meat/herbs of your choice

6. Bake

  • Preheat oven to 240°C (465°F) or highest setting.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes or until cheese is melted and crust is golden.

  • Add 1 tbsp yogurt for extra soft dough.
  • Brush crust with garlic butter before baking.
