🥟🍅Make Street-Style Momos at Home Using Wheat Flour + Quick Chutney🌶️

Ingredients

For momo dough:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour (atta)
  • 1 tsp oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Water (as required)

For filling (veg version):

  • 1 cup finely shredded cabbage
  • ½ cup grated carrot
  • ½ cup finely chopped capsicum
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • ½ tsp light soy sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough
    • Mix wheat flour, salt, oil & add water slowly to make a soft smooth dough.
    • Cover and rest for 15–20 minutes.
  2. Prepare the filling
    • Heat oil in a pan → add onions & sauté 1 minute.
    • Add ginger-garlic paste, then vegetables.
    • Cook for 3–4 mins on high flame to avoid sogginess.
    • Add salt, pepper & soy sauce → mix and cool completely.
  3. Shape the momos
    • Divide dough into small balls → roll thin circles.
    • Place 1–2 tsp filling in center.
    • Fold into half moon or pleated shape & seal edges properly.
  4. Cook
    • Steam in a steamer for 10–12 minutes until they look shiny and cooked.
    • Don’t oversteam or they become chewy.

🌶️ Easy Spicy Red Chutney for Momos

Ingredients

  • 6–8 dried red chillies (soaked in hot water)
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 3–4 garlic cloves
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 tsp oil

Instructions

  1. Boil tomatoes for 3–4 minutes or microwave for 2 minutes.
  2. Remove skin and blend tomatoes, soaked chillies, garlic, salt into a smooth paste.
  3. Heat 1 tsp oil and sauté the paste for 2–3 minutes.
  4. Add vinegar/lemon juice for balance and cool it down.

🔥 Optional: Add 1 tsp soy or a pinch of sugar for extra flavor.
