✅ Ingredients:
- Wheat flour – 1 cup
- Ripe mango – ½ to 1 cup (pureed or finely chopped)
- Warm water – as needed
- Grated coconut – ¼ cup
- Salt – a pinch
- Cardamom powder – a pinch (optional, for aroma)
👩🍳 Preparation Steps:
- Prepare the flour:
- Roast wheat flour lightly.
- Add a pinch of salt and cardamom powder.
- Add mango:
- Mix in pureed mango (or very finely chopped ripe mango).
- Then gradually sprinkle warm water to get a crumbly, moist texture — not sticky.
- Rest:
- Let the mixture rest for 10–15 minutes.
- Layer in steamer:
- In the puttu kutti, layer grated coconut, then mango-wheat mixture, then coconut again.
- Repeat till full.
- Steam:
- Steam for 5–7 minutes on medium flame until a lovely aroma comes out.
🍴 Taste & Serving Tips:
- Serve warm as is — it’ll be mildly sweet and soft.
- For extra indulgence, drizzle with ghee or coconut milk.
- Kids love it with banana slices or a sprinkle of jaggery on top.
