🌿 Why it’s great for skin
Kanji is a traditional North Indian fermented drink made from beetroot, carrots, and mustard seeds. It’s rich in probiotics, antioxidants, and vitamins A & C — all essential for healthy, glowing winter skin. The fermentation process boosts gut health, which in turn improves nutrient absorption and skin clarity.
🧉 Ingredients:
- 2 medium beetroots, peeled and cut into thin sticks
- 2 medium carrots, peeled and cut into sticks
- 1 ½ litre filtered water
- 2 tsp black mustard seeds (crushed)
- 1 tsp red chilli powder (optional, for tang)
- 1 tsp black salt (or Himalayan pink salt)
- Juice of half a lemon (for brightness)
🥄 Method:
- In a large glass jar, add beetroot and carrot sticks.
- Add crushed mustard seeds, salt, and chilli powder. Pour water over the mix and stir well.
- Cover the jar with a muslin cloth and keep it in a sunny spot for 3–4 days to ferment. Stir it once a day.
- Once it turns tangy and deep pink, strain it and refrigerate.
💧 How to use:
Drink ½ glass daily before lunch or mid-morning.
Regular intake helps detoxify the body, boost collagen, and give a natural pinkish glow to your skin in cold months.
