The European Council has approved a new strategic agenda to deepen technological, defence-industry, connectivity and sustainability ties between the EU and India. This agenda is set to be finalised at the next EU-India summit and involves cooperation in emerging technologies, secure supply chains, green tech, quantum communications and more.
For India, this means stronger access to European tech, research collaboration and global markets; for Europe it offers access to an ambitious Asian partner and alternative supply chains. The move underscores how tech/geopolitics are increasingly interlinked: alliances are no longer purely about trade but about technological sovereignty, data-governance and strategic infrastructure.
