The government-backed space regulator IN‑SPACe has launched a major funding initiative — a ₹1,000 crore (≈US $120 million) fund aimed at India’s private-space and satellite start-up ecosystem.
This move comes amid predictions that India’s space economy could grow to around US $44 billion by 2033 — underlining the government’s strategy to open up the sector, attract private investment and develop indigenous launch, satellite and in-space service capabilities.
