Research teams from MNNIT Allahabad, IIIT Gwalior, and PEC Chandigarh are collaborating on a ground-breaking high-speed 6G antenna, aiming to achieve 1 terabyte per second (Tbps) transmission speeds—1000× faster than current gigabit tech. Funded by the DoT with ₹32 lakh, the project’s indigenous R&D should conclude in about three years.
This antenna could significantly reduce network congestion, improve connectivity in remote zones, and enable futuristic applications such as instantaneous AR/VR streaming, autonomous vehicles, and smart city infrastructure. It’s a strategic signal that India is serious about pushing the envelope on next-gen telecom R&D.
