The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has achieved a significant milestone with its laser-based weapon system, the Integrated Drone Detection & Interdiction System (IDD&IS) Mk2A. The system successfully neutralized a Chinese drone near the Line of Control, showcasing India’s advancements in directed-energy weapons.
The IDD&IS Mk2A employs a 30 kW laser to disable aerial threats, including drones and missiles, enhancing India’s defense capabilities. This development marks a step forward in indigenous defense technology, contributing to national security and technological self-reliance.
