n a unique blend of tradition and technology, Bhopal unveiled a Vedic Clock at the Chief Minister’s residence today. Rooted in ancient Indian timekeeping, the clock operates on a 30-hour day, where each hour—termed a “muhurta”—lasts 48 minutes, and the cycle begins with sunrise. Developed over eight years at a cost of about ₹1 crore, the project also includes a mobile app offering 3,179 years of Vedic time data. The initiative underscores India’s cultural heritage interwoven with technological expression.
As a symbolic link between past and future, this clock represents how heritage can inspire innovation. It stands as a reminder that technology isn’t just about the new—it can also help us revisit and reinterpret ancient wisdom with modern tools.
