India’s ambitious Mumbai–Ahmedabad bullet train corridor is gearing up to use Japan’s advanced E10 Shinkansen trains, capable of speeds up to 320 km/h. In preparation, E5 Shinkansen models will be tested first to ensure safety, interoperability, and readiness of infrastructure.
This Indo-Japanese collaboration not only promises a faster travel revolution but also signals deeper tech exchanges in rail signalling, materials, and systems. The project could become a model of high-speed rail in Asia and an engine for domestic manufacturing in related high-tech sectors.
