Maharashtra has unveiled the MahaAgri‑AI Policy 2025–29, backed by ₹500 cr in funding for the first three years. This initiative integrates AI, drones, robotics, predictive analytics, and smart sensors to transform agriculture—from real-time crop monitoring and weather forecasting to automated pest control. The program also includes AI hubs at agricultural universities, a new AgriTech & AI Centre, and a unified Agri‑Data Exchange (A‑DeX) for streamlined farmer access.
A standout feature is Vistaar, an AI chat and voice assistant in Marathi designed to guide farmers on pricing, pest management, and government schemes. Blockchain traceability will also be introduced for export-quality produce. With annual “AI in Agriculture” summits, Maharashtra aims to elevate farm productivity and farmer incomes while nurturing local AgTech startups
