On June 5, 2025, Odisha marked a significant milestone by inaugurating its first deep neural network (DNN) laboratory in Bhubaneswar. Established at Krystellar Defence and Aerospace in Nayapally, this advanced facility was launched by Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo. The lab is dedicated to cutting-edge research in areas including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), artificial intelligence (AI), electronic warfare, and space surveillance. It seeks to develop indigenous capabilities in missile defence, radar signal processing, drone technology, and cyber defence systems.
This initiative underscores Odisha’s growing role in strengthening national defence preparedness. By focusing on AI-driven solutions, the state aims to enhance India’s self-reliance in critical defence technologies, aligning with the broader national objectives of technological advancement and security.
