In a major boost to the Indian deep-tech ecosystem, NVIDIA has become a founding member and strategic advisor of the India Deep Tech Alliance (IDTA), which has secured over US $850 million in capital commitments for this round. The Alliance, launched in September with an initial commitment of US $1 billion, aims to accelerate innovation in sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, robotics and space technologies.
For India, this signifies a stronger push from global tech-majors to partner with domestic deep-tech firms, providing not just funding but also technical mentorship, access to global tools and policy support via NVIDIA’s involvement. It could help bridge India’s gap in early-stage deep-tech R&D funding, long timelines and path to commercialization. Investment is expected to flow into startups capable of hardware innovation, unlike conventional software-only models.
