🌸 Sweet Aval Recipe
Ingredients:
- Aval / Poha (flattened rice) – 1 cup (thick or medium variety)
- Jaggery – ½ cup (powdered)
- Grated coconut – 2 tbsp
- Cardamom powder – ½ tsp
- Ghee – 1 tsp
- Cashews – 5–6 (optional)
- Water – ¼ cup
Method:
- Wash & Soak Aval – Rinse aval well, then soak in little water for 5–10 minutes (just until soft). Drain excess water.
- Prepare Jaggery Syrup – In a pan, add jaggery + ¼ cup water. Heat until it dissolves. Strain to remove impurities.
- Mix – Add soaked aval, coconut, and cardamom powder to the jaggery syrup. Stir gently until it blends well.
- Ghee Fry Cashews – In a tsp of ghee, fry cashews until golden and add on top.
- Serve – Offer as prasadam or enjoy warm! 🌸🙏
Variations:
- Add a few raisins along with cashews.
- Use thin aval directly without soaking (just wash and drain).
- Mix in a spoon of milk for a richer taste.
