Booking and Reservations:

  • Advance Booking: It’s essential to book your pet’s travel at least 72 hours before departure, especially if you plan to have your pet in the cabin.
  • How to Book: Bring your pet to the check-in counter with the required travel case and paperwork to purchase a ticket. Alternatively, you can make a booking by reaching out to Air India’s Customer Support.

Pet Travel Options:

  • In-Cabin: Pets can travel in the cabin if the combined weight of the pet and their container is under 7 kg (15 lbs).
  • Checked Baggage: If the combined weight of the pet and container is over 7 kg (15 lbs) but under 32 kg (70 lbs), they can travel as checked baggage.
  • Cargo: Pets exceeding a combined weight of 32 kg (70 lbs) must be transported as cargo.

Standard excess baggage charges apply based on the combined weight of the pet and its container, regardless of whether the free baggage allowance is utilized.
