- GCC Introduces Smart Waste Collection in North Chennai
The Greater Chennai Corporation has launched a smart waste collection initiative in Royapuram and Thiru Vi Ka Nagar. This eco-friendly system uses AI-based waste prediction, GPS tracking, IoT sensors, RFID-tagged smart bins, battery-operated vehicles, and a grievance app for residents. - New Dog Regulations Issued by GCC
Following a fatal dog attack in Jafferkhanpet, the GCC mandates that all pet dogs must be muzzled and leashed in public. Owners are urged to ensure their pets don’t intimidate others, including in apartment elevators. - Victoria Public Hall Reopening Delayed
Chennai’s historic Victoria Public Hall, refurbished under the Singara Chennai 2.0 project, will not reopen immediately. Before inauguration, a museum inside needs further development, including stormwater infrastructure. The hall will later host cultural events, and entry will be free (with possible registration). - Tamil Nadu to Set Up Elite Marine Force for Coastal Conservation
