As of October 2025, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has introduced updates to the Aadhaar card update process. While some changes are already in effect, others are set to roll out in the coming months. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you navigate these updates.
✅ Changes You Can Make Online (Effective November 2025)
Starting November 2025, UIDAI will enable online updates for the following Aadhaar details:
- Name
- Address
- Date of Birth
- Mobile Number
To update these details online, visit the myAadhaar portal. You’ll need to log in using your Aadhaar number and authenticate via an OTP sent to your registered mobile number. Once logged in, select the option to update your details, upload the necessary supporting documents, and submit your request. An Update Request Number (URN) will be generated, which you can use to track the status of your update. Financial Express
🛠️ Changes Requiring Offline Updates
Certain updates still require an in-person visit to an Aadhaar Enrolment Centre:
- Gender
- Biometric Details (Fingerprint, Iris, Photograph)
- Name (Minor corrections)
- Date of Birth (Minor corrections)
To update these details, visit your nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centre with the original documents supporting the changes. You can locate the nearest centre using the Bhuvan Aadhaar Portal. After submitting your request, you’ll receive an acknowledgment slip with a URN to track the status of your update. UIDAI
