In an unprecedented move to build quantum technology expertise, 55,000 Indian university students have enrolled in a coordinated quantum computing course launched January 19, 2026. The program, delivered through the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), covers quantum algorithms, error correction, and hands-on sessions using Qiskit programming tools with faculty from IIT Madras and experts from IBM Quantum.
