The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that due to 2 factors – 1st, the cyclonic format developed in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the Southeast Bay of Bengal persisting, and 2nd, due to the phenomenon of thermal convection, there are prospects of heavy rain in 1 or 2 places for 2 days (today, 27th, and tomorrow, 28th September).
There are prospects of rain or rain with thunder in1 or 2 places in the coastal districts of Chennai, Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Pudhukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, and Kanyakumari.
There are prospects of rain or rain with thunder in the interior districts of Vellore, Thiruvannamalai, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Nilgiri, Tirupur, Coimbatore, Erode, Karur, Trichy, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Sivagangai, Virudhunagar, Theni, Dindigul, and Madurai.
