Several countries have recently eased visa requirements for Indian citizens, enhancing travel opportunities. The UAE now offers a visa-on-arrival option for Indian citizens holding valid US, UK, or EU visas, allowing a stay of up to 14 days, with an option to extend for an additional 14 days. Sri Lanka has announced visa-free travel for Indian citizens starting from October 2024, while Kenya and Iran implemented similar policies in January 2024.
Additionally, Thailand introduced visa-free entry for tourism, permitting stays up to 60 days, effective for six months starting from July 15, 2024. Japan has begun issuing single-entry eVisas for all Indian citizens and foreign nationals residing in India starting April 1, 2024, specifically for short-stay tourism. These developments significantly enhance the ease of international travel for Indian passport holders, opening up new destinations for tourism and business.
