Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Bachelor’s degree (minimum 3-year course) in any discipline from a recognized university with minimum 60% marks or
    • B.E./B.Tech (4-year course) in any discipline (including IT, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, etc.) with at least 60% marks
    • Must have secured minimum 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level
  • Age Limit: 20 to 26 years as of 1st January 2027
  • Physical Standards: Candidates must meet IAF medical and physical fitness standards for flying branch

  • Pay Scale: Pay Matrix Level 10 with starting pay of ₹56,100 and a maximum of ₹1,77,500 per month

Selection Process

  • The Indian Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is the main gateway for selection

  • Stage 1 – AFSB Testing: Includes Officer Intelligence Rating Test, Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT)
  • Stage 2 – AFSB Testing: Psychological tests, Group Tests, and Personal Interview at Air Force Selection Board
  • Computerized Pilot Selection System (CPSS) Test: For flying branch candidates only, to assess flying aptitude
  • Candidates qualifying all stages are medically examined and finally selected
  • Final merit list prepared based on AFCAT, AFSB, and CPSS tests
