The Chennai Meteorological Centre has estimated that with the extended southwest monsoon rainy season, there are prospects of widespread rains for the next 2 days from today (Monday, 15th October) in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
The southwest monsoon rainy season started on 29th May. There have been widespread rains throughout the country from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. In this situation, 2 cyclone format developed over the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, named Luban and Titli. Titli, over the Bay of Bengal, devastated the states of Andhra and Odisha.
Luban, over the Arabian Sea, crossed the coast at Oman yesterday (Sunday, 14th October). Subsequently, the southwest monsoon rainy season has returned to normal in the states including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra.
There was some mild rain in a few places yesterday.
The Indian Meteorological Department has informed that there are prospects of widespread rains in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry including the coastal areas today and tomorrow for 2 days.
Chennai will have a clear skyline. The maximum temperature will be 35 Degrees Celsius as per the Chennai Meteorological Centre.
