Eligibility – education, age and language

• Educational qualification (Assistant Manager/IT):
  • Full‑time regular B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc Engineering in Computer Science or Information Technology with at least 60% marks, OR
  • Full‑time regular MCA or Master’s degree in IT with at least 60% marks.​
• Age limit (as on 01.01.2025):
  • Generally 18–37 years for General category for PSTCL posts.​
  • Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and other categories as per Punjab Govt norms.​
• Language requirement:
  • Must have passed Punjabi up to Matric level (10th class) or equivalent.​

Salary, pay scale and selection process

• Pay scale (approximate):
  • Assistant Manager/IT: about ₹40,000 – ₹1,25,000 per month in Level 9/10 equivalent (7th CPC/State pay matrix).​
• Selection process:
  • Computer-Based Test (CBT) – objective type questions.​
  • Merit preparation based mainly on CBT score, followed by document verification and medical fitness.​

The CBT includes professional/technical questions, aptitude and Punjabi language test components, as per the detailed notification and exam pattern.​
