On April 24, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation for multiple development projects in Bihar’s Madhubani district, totaling over ₹13,500 crore. These initiatives encompass significant advancements in rail connectivity, energy infrastructure, and rural development, aiming to bolster the state’s overall growth.
Key highlights include the launch of four new train services: the Amrit Bharat Express between Saharsa and Mumbai, the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail between Jaynagar and Patna, and new routes connecting Pipra–Saharsa and Saharsa–Samastipur. Additionally, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Supaul–Pipra and Hasanpur–Bithan rail lines, two-lane rail overbridges at Chapra and Bagaha, and dedicated the Khagaria–Alauli rail line to the nation. In the energy sector, he laid the foundation stone for an LPG bottling plant with a rail unloading facility at Hathua in Gopalganj district, valued at approximately ₹340 crore, and initiated power projects worth over ₹6,200 crore under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme. Furthermore, benefits under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission were distributed to over 2 lakh self-help groups, and approvals were granted for 15 lakh new beneficiaries under the PMAY-Gramin housing scheme.
