Rains and winds in southern suburbs like ECR, Siruseri regions and southern suburbs will see good spell, while core city gets steady rains and we can expect some increase in intensity at night / morning. The pattern of steady rains to continue in Chennai till tomorrow noon.

To be honest the clouds stayed outside Chennai for good 12 hours without moving so adamantly. 12 precious hours lost and all the rains dumped in the sea so close to our city and now the clouds parked off Chennai coast starts to move in and reports are that its very windy in ECR / Siruseri region. As we go into the night other place of city shall also get Steady rains. This will be the pattern tomorrow too. Ooty like.
Whatever we get henceforth will not be able to compensate for Chennai city defecit rainfall. Though MJO is expected to come to our basin around 2nd week and stay for a while. it is impossible for Chennai city to overcome the deficit this monsoon. Tamil Nadu as a whole might scrape through this NEM. Chennai it is going to be an herculean task.

From 24th dry weather for most of the state. There is not going to be any month end low as spread or expected by many. The make or break low for Chennai (present one) has ended on break mode. Really frustrating to see those clouds stay there for 12 hours without moving.
The page will be closed till MJO moves into our basin around 1/2nd week of December or when the next active spell comes in.
Only hope is to have December 2007 like december when we were in similar situation and monsoon failure was saved by December rains.
